There is a popular saying in the MCIGS that how you do anything is how you do everything. We therefore constantly strive to evolve a culture tagged, ‘The MCIGS Way’ by adhering to the following basic core values in all our daily engagements with stakeholders globally.
Accountability
The MCIGS believes in Margaret Mead’s statement to never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has. Therefore, we do not believe that the buck stops on any ‘leader’s desk’ but a collective commitment from every stakeholder who wilfully accepts responsibility irrespective of their position. Moreover, while we constantly enlist the support of individuals or groups with shared values, the MCIGS DO NOT compel anyone to accept the enviable responsibility in which they are not willing to be held accountable. This informs our message to all our stakeholders; just do your job because we are convinced that the true greatness of the MCIGS would only be realised when every thoughtful and committed stakeholder does their job without any alibi.
Courage
The history of MCIGS is rooted in the challenging past of its founding members from the science class of 2000 in Ila-Grammar School. We therefore take full ownership of our unusual stories by standing up for what we believe; explore new opportunities across the globe for our beneficiaries, get uncomfortable when and where necessary, take justifiable and lawful risks, challenge personal, narrow beliefs and self-serving behaviours among stakeholders whilst taking responsibility for our initiatives and outcomes. Above all, we see every obstacle as a raw catalyst for the way forward to realise our objectives.
Growth
The MCIGS is an organic entity that is strongly committed to continuous improvement. We therefore believe that the present and future of the organisation is intractably linked to the unalloyed commitments of its stakeholders to personal and professional development in a constantly changing and complex world. Moreover, we abhor reactive approach to change, rather we prepare for and lead the change by embracing new ideas and innovation, look for and engage in opportunities, value and invest in learning, fail successfully, and focus on contribution and continuous improvement through after-action review (AAR) of all our undertakings with the stakeholders.
Respect
Due to the uneven distribution of opportunity channels for development of its founding members, during and after high school; the MCIGS recognise and respect individual’s unique journey without recourse to their age, ethnicity, gender, race, religion, professional or financial background. Therefore, we DO NOT utilise any of the aforementioned demographic features including council area, state of origin, or nationality to allocate responsibilities or benefits of our programmes. The only criteria of engagement with the MCIGS are our shared values which empower us to promote and uphold the dignity of stakeholders in our value chains.
Service
The foundational creed of MCIGS was derived from a Greek proverb which says, ‘a society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit’. The group believes that while they cannot change the painful past which limited their individual prospects; they can leverage their past pain points to build a platform (the MCIGS) through which those who are coming and (committed) after them from similar communities would never experience the limitations of its founders irrespective of their parental, gender, or social status. We do this without seeking any financial gains, private or public recognition and rewards. Furthermore, unless otherwise stated, the MCIGS openly acknowledge external support, but we DO NOT make public the name of any individual irrespective of the donation’s value. This is to safeguard the privacy and confidentiality of every donor globally and most importantly, to preserve one of our core values, selfless SERVICE.
Teamwork
The MCIGS possess unflinching belief in the timeless axiom that says, ‘no one is as wise as all of us.’ This informs our organisation’s mantra; it is bigger than us. Our decisions which constantly shape the future of the organisation are thus strictly based on the merit of MCIGS future stability and continue success. We are equally opened to collaborations with individuals or groups across the globe with shared value of lifting the standard of human dignity via educational tools irrespective of their political, religious, gender, tribal or racial lineage.
